Supporting Future Stewards
Source Mountain exists to create spaces where culture, creativity and mountain knowledge can be shared across generations.
2026 has been declared the United Nations International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, recognising the vital role pastoral communities play in sustaining ecosystems, cultures and livelihoods across the world’s mountain landscapes.
Future Stewards advances educational pathways for young people growing up in high-altitude mountain communities, grounded in cultural continuity, intergenerational leadership and long-term relationship with place.
This work is shaped through sustained collaboration with families and community leaders. It supports access to learning, mentorship and exchange while honouring the knowledge systems that have sustained mountain cultures for generations.
What your support makes possible
• Creative learning programmes for nomadic children
• Cultural exchanges between artists and mountain communities
• Nurturing the next generation of mountain stewards
Your contribution helps carry this work forward, strengthening pathways that allow young people — particularly women and children — to remain connected to place with dignity, opportunity and choice.
Every contribution, large or small, helps keep this work alive.
Thank you for supporting the Source Mountain circle of care and continuity.
